Leader’s Legacy

Leader’s Legacy, a grand strategy game for the ages

After the great war known as The Shattering ended the Hardan Empire some thirty years past, the people of Kern have looked for new leaders to guide them into an uncertain age. Old customs and societies have been reduced to memory; footnotes in the history of the continent.

Now, new powers rise. Crafters, tradespeople, philosophers and warmongers alike seek their place in the changing landscape of Kern. Who will bring them to glory, and who will be destined for the ashes of history? Which nation will cement their leader’s legacy?

Leader’s Legacy is a grand strategy game for 3-6 players involving building, trading, war, and diplomacy. It centers around the leaders that players choose to run their fledgling nations and the unique abilities those leaders provide.

The Leaders

Sada, Venerated Keeper

With the fall of Tirke during the great war, much of Kern’s great literature and history was lost or destroyed. For many years, commonfolk have looked to the Keepers to restore and preserve any missing or forgotten knowledge. Sada is the youngest Keeper in more than 200 years, and all the more respected for it.

After leaving her home to study at monasteries and libraries far and wide, her journey was cut short by an invasion of the lowlands. Having watched the wrecking of both land and culture, Sada resolved to learn the ways of war to ensure that next time, she would be ready. Now she embraces people of all lands and cultures, especially those who have lost their ancestral homes, and strives to build a new society with the wisdom of the ancients to guide her.

Fostron, Free Wizard of Kern

The world is changing. The reverence and respect for the old ways is gone, sundered by war and conflict. Yet in the halls of lords and ladies, there is one who still holds the ear of all who hear him. Fostron is a task mage, a seasoned advisor, and a skilled tactician. Known to travel with a loyal following of apprentices and acolytes, the wizard has a powerful control over his mental abilities and those of others.

Though fewer and fewer of his countrymen understand or even believe in his abilities, the wizard’s penchant for being at the center of history’s most pivotal moments is undeniable. Now that chance once again has come knocking, and Fostron’s skills will once more be tested, along with the strength of his following.

Flint Myre, the Marksman

A skilled and lethal professional, Flint Myre was trained as a sniper in the Imperial Army in the days before The Shattering. When the army was disbanded, Flint was forced to find his own way as a mercenary. Many of his comrades followed Flint’s lead, and soon they had formed The Mayfield Company, providing their services to towns in need during bandit raids or local wars.

As more and more towns now back The Mayfield Company to bring stability and keep peace, questions of leadership abound. With Flint’s expert talents and his company’s devastating effectiveness, is there any limit to what they can achieve?

Sir Cedric, Honor’s Hand

Some men go their entire lives without an act of heroism or courage. For others, those moments are a fact of life. Sir Cedric is one such man. The last of his order, he strives to renew the world to its proper axis; one with rules, values, and respect.

As formidable a fighter as he is a leader, Sir Cedric leads by example, and never breaks his word. His prowess on the battlefield is legendary, as is his honor. For the seasoned knight, all that remains is to rebuild his lost order’s former glory, and Kern’s prosperity with it.
